Scope and Contents Collection contains Historic Sites Preservation in Oklahoma Handbooks from 1971 and 1976 (2 copies each). These handbooks, published by the Oklahoma Historical Society, are intended to be of help and assistance to those interested in the preservation of the historic sites that constitute a portion of the heritage of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma City/County Historical Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the historical heritage of Oklahoma City. We conduct regular membership meetings with interesting and informative programs designed to stimulate interest in state and local history while maintaining an emphasis on Oklahoma City and the surrounding Oklahoma County. These materials include records of most state agencies and constitutional officers, vividly reflecting the history of Oklahoma State government. The State Archives preserves the permanent records of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of Oklahoma state government. From territorial days forward, subject matter touches a wide variety of political, economic, social and worldly issues. The Archives is open Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Archives does close for lunch on Saturday's from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
